SLETTEN FJELLGARD

is a mountain farm, 800 m above sea-level, near Dovrefjell national-park, and not far from Rondane national-park. We, the family Sletten run the farm. From 1950 we also have tourists on the farm. That makes it possible for two families to live here. Eirik, Åshild and three small children do the farm-work with the animals, about 160 sheep during the winter, and we, Anne and Hans, Eirik's parents, work with the tourists. Since 1987 we have arranged guided tours in the countryside for tourists, and lots of guests are comming back every year to enjoy the beautiful and easy accessible area.

RONDANE - DOVREFJELL

The national-parks are well known for their flora and fauna. There are also a lot of other protected areas in the surrounding country: marches, forests and special geology areas.

THE SURROUNDINGS

are very well suitable for walking and sport summer as well as winter. In the terrain you can go everywhere you want. It's also many paths, marked and unmarked, for walking, and trails for cross-country skiing. Ski-lifts and possibilities for slalom and down-hill skiing you can find in Dombås and Oppdal. 45 and 60 km away.

GUIDED TOURS

If you don't like to walk alone we can offer you walking in a wonderful country-side with local guide. Touring-program with 6 different excursions: (4 in one week) Musk-ox in the Dovrefjell national-park, ice-walking, bird-watching, animals and flowers. The guide speaks English, but the main language on the tours is German.
In 2006 the Tours goes from Sunday to Friday in these weeks: 11.- 16. June, 2. – 7. July, 16. – 21. July, 6. – 11. August.
